A chemical produced by skin which is affected by eczema has been found to cause asthma in mice. If this same mechanism is found to exist in humans, then treatment to suppress the chemical would be possible.

It is likely that herbs or nutritional supplements could be used for this purpose.

The chemical is called Thymic stromal lymphopoietin, or TSLP.
