Deaths among child cancer sufferers in the US have fallen by 25% in the past ten years.
The improvement is due to some advances which have partcularly benefited children. The study found that survival in all age groups had improved, but children had the best improvement.
One cancer specialist commented that treatments for some cancers, such as lymphoma and leukaemia had improved immeasurably and, pleasingly often, they were not the ‘death sentence’ they used to be.
