Researchers at Bradford University, helped by others in Germany, have finally identified why hair turns grey. The exact reason has always puzzled scientists.
The reasons for grey hair is – hydrogen peroxide.
This chemical naturally builds up with aging and eventually blocks the production of melanin which colours our hair.
Now hydrogen peroxide is known to be the culprit, it is only a matter of time until a way of reducing the chemical is found. This will, presumably, keep hair at its original colour. It may even restore its colour naturally.
Well – as naturally as can be.
This is good news – if for no reason other than reducing the use of hair dye.
Whatever the solution found as a result of this research, is unlikely to be as damaging as the dyes – many of which are thought to be harmful, and some of which are thought to be carcinogenic.

This is a really interesting find. I had my first grey hair at 8 which is hereditary in my family.
