There is an interesting post on Living To 150 anti-aging blog about the protection that lycopene in tomatoes gives when sunbathing.
DNA damage which the sun can cause was reduced by five sixths by taking a modest amount of lycopene as a supplement.
The best, commonly available source of lycopene is the tomato – either raw, as juice or in a tomato sauce.

That is some great news, because I eat a bunch of tomatoes every week. They are probably my favorite fruit, well the one I eat the most of anyway. Who knew all the pasta would pay off…
