With reports that swine flu has retreated, doctors warn that it is no time to be complacent.
65,000 deaths are predicted in the UK or one per thousand of the population. This will be a huge jump from the current UK death toll – which is only around 30. The vast majority had pre-existing conditions – in other words, they were already ill.
There is a silver lining for those born before 1958. It is reported that those born before this date may be immune to the current swine flu strain.
