Swine Flu Update

by malc on May 22, 2009

girls-in-masks-w200-h200 The total number of people affected by swine flu – properly called influenza A (H1N1) – has risen to over 100 in the UK. In Japan, the number affected is 200. Worldwide, the total affected is 10,000.

One estimate of the the number who have died worldwide is 76, 68 of them in Mexico. It is difficult to pin down the exact number because many will have died from secondary causes with swine flu as an additional factor.

Naturally, the Mexico holiday trade has been hit hard.

Here is up to the minute UK government advice on swine flu.

(Oddly,  this government page is primarily orange, making it look very like an Easyjet web page.)
