Superfoods
Wheat Grass is one of the so called superfoods, also including barley grass and spirulina.
Spirulina
The benefit of spirulina is that it’s cell walls are made out of simple carbohydrates rather than cellulose. This means that the nutrients in spirulina are released for the body almost as soon as the spirulina hits the stomach and the cell walls dissolve.
Our high quality spirulina is grown for us organically in the Far East. We searched high and low to find one which was 100% pure – no additives. This is difficult to find - but we managed it.
You can take 2 spirulina tablets 3 times a day (or double or treble this amount if you wish – this is perfectly safe).
Wheat Grass is very nutritious, high in cholorphyll, SOD (super oxide dismutase – an antioxidant), vitamins A, B complex, C, and E, as well as a wide spectrum of minerals and enzymes. The content is very much richer than the equivalent quantity of vegetables, making Wheat Grass a great supplement.
The other advantage of Wheat Grass is that it helps detox. When you start using Wheat Grass start fairly slowly – one capsules 3 times a day (or equivalent of powder). Otherwise you may feel slight nausea from the detoxing effect. After a few days you can increase the amount taken without a problem.

Tom – I don’t believe there is any significant difference. The nutritional profiile is very similar. Just use the best auality one. Our Wheat Grass is organically grown in America and grown over Winter to get minimum growth with maximum nutrition. It is then harvested just before it shoots up in the Spring. It is processed and kept at optimal temperature to preserve its nutrition. In other words – a good product!
We used to get Barley Grass in for a customer, but just was not worth our while to stock it as Wheat Grass does the job.
You have to love wheatgrass. It has a history that speaks for itself. We have been trained as consumers to think that is it doesn’t have a big marketing campaign promoting it that it is not really worth our attention. That type of thinking is wrong and it is not in your best interest, it is all in the interest of the people spending the billions of dollars for that campaign. Just because they have all that money to spend promoting a product does not mean that it is good for you, they are making money plain and simple.

I’ve been wheatgrassing for about a year and have been growing my own for probably about 9 months. I can’t imagine life without it! Its not hard to grow. At first it takes a little getting used to the juice but worth it.

Yes, Thanks you Anne Wigmore for being one of the pioneers of juicing wheatgrass as we know it today. I love the fact that wheatgrass detoxifies and cleanses our system (our digestive system and our blood) the way that it does. It is a natural plant performing its magic naturally and from my experiences I know first hand how valuable it is as part of a wellness program.
After thinking and pondering the whole subject isn’t it our responsibility to be in charge of our own health, the medical profession has good thing that it does but for the most part they are just prescribing drugs….
